Messages in a bottle (Faro)
December 5 – February 23
The Municipal Museum of Faro exhibits the work of the young Portugese artist Maria Mergulhão from December 5 until February 23. Her exposition called ‘Messages in a bottle’ is centered around pop music. In her paintings you see catchy song lyrics, that we all know and can sing along. She forces us to question the role of sexism and plagiarism that exists in music. Mergulhão’s work stands out because of her oversized paintings, that mirror graffiti techniques.
