Feira De Santa Iría
Feira De Santa Iría is a traditional fair in Faro in celebration of Saint Irene. It is the largest festival of Faro and always attracts many people. The fair dates back more than 400 years, since the first fair was held in 1596. It is organized by Ambifaro, in partnership with the municipality of Faro. If you wish to have a good time, come visit this festival.
What to expect
When visiting Feira De Santa Iría, expect attractions, exhibitions and handmade crafts. For example, there are bumper cars and carousels. There is also a ferris wheel, which allows you to see a panoramic view of Faro. Additionally, there are plenty of food stalls selling local produce and there is live entertainment. The fair has plenty of things to enjoy with the whole family. Especially kids love to visit the fair and enjoy the many attractions.

Where?
Feira De Santa Iría takes place on the Largo de São Francisco square in Faro, the capital of the Algarve. This square is located within a short walking distance of the historical old town of Faro. Behind the square you can see the Ria Formosa.
When?
The fair of Santa Iría takes place in the third weekend of October and lasts for 9 days. From Monday to Friday, the festival starts at 4 PM, while it starts at 3 PM in the weekend. The festival stops at midnight during the week and at 1 AM on Friday and Saturday.
The event takes place every year on the third weekend of October.

What is the entrance fee?
The entrance to the fair is free. If you decide to enjoy the entertainment by for example going in a carousel, it will cost a couple of euros.
