Literally, Praia da Boca do Rio translates as river mouth beach. This is because you can find the river mouth of the Ribeira de Budens river on the east side of the beach. The river flows through a valley into the sea. If you follow the river inland, you can occasionally spot otters swimming here. In addition, you can see many birds around this area.
