Events in the Algarve in October

Algarve Classic Festival (Portimão)
The Algarve Classic Festival is the largest classic car event in Portugal. The festival is being hosted at the circuit Autódromo Internacional do Algarve (AIA) in Portimão. More than 300 teams and 500 drivers from all over the world come here to race old sportscars. If you like classic cars, don’t miss this event.
Birdwatching Festival (Sagres)
In the beginning of October, you can visit the Birdwatching Festival in Sagres. This is one of the most popular birdwatching festivals in the Algarve. In addition to birdwatching, there are boat tours and other activities. If you like being in nature, don’t miss this festival.
Feira De Santa Iría (Faro)
In honor of Saint Irene, the city of Faro organizes a big fair for the entire family. Adults and children can go in the ferris wheel and many other carnival rides. There is live music and lots of stalls where you can buy local produce. You can find the fair in the square Largo de São Francisco between the historical old town of Faro and the Ria Formosa.
Oktoberfest (Porches)
In the heart of the Algarve, you find the Vila Vita Biergarten. This Bavarian restaurant is located in Porches and is THE place to be during Oktoberfest. Here you can celebrate Germany’s favourite festival together with 700 other party people. Drink and dance along the wooden benches and enjoy the best German beers. The waiters are of course dressed in the traditinal dirndl and lederhosen. Forget rainy Munich, go celebrate Oktoberfest in the Algarvian heat.
